Giving Thanks

We had a few friends over last weekend for a Thanksgiving dinner. It was our second time making everything, and this year we even added a few new recipes to try.

The red turkeys were the butter dishes!
We rubbed the turkey with loads of fresh herbs, made two types of stuffing, had mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and a few other sides. Add great company and some red wine, and it ended up being a perfect night.
The next day we used what was left of the bird and the herbs to make a turkey stock. Now we have fresh broth to use in all the soups we make over the fall/winter months.
We have many, many things to be thankful for over here. We have been blessed in so many ways over the past few years, and a holiday to sit and reflect on all the good things we have is indeed a great day.
